truth
dear melissa created this awesome event called "Spread The Word" on facebook where we post an encouraging verse daily during this exam period to basically encourage and spur each other on to look on to God and trust Him....and it's caught like wildfire; in fact, the christians have caught on fire! what was intended for awwlgud has also attracted some flamers in the form of atheists. some ask genuine questions, while others are just there to air their opinions subtly (or not so subtly) guised as inquisitive "questions". some are just there to be rude and celebrate it, and that is a good reminder of the world we live in, God's created world. what is the appropriate response? as always, debate centres around the bible (and its 'fallacious' nature) and earth and everything else about God and His creation that has been disproved about 10571975507 times over.
here is my response. i'm probably one of the most irresponsible 'christians' around, but that is what has been impressed upon me in my time in God's church (literal or figurative). :)
i think there is a place for debate and discussion, but it's not debates and intellectual exchange that won souls. trying to iron out every last inkling of scientific truth will not get you anywhere. there are two sides to any coin and both... sides can claim to have the answers to 'creation science' and everything else that is empirical. there is much we know of the earth and it's workings, but there is so much we don't. can we proudly assume the rules we've empirically worked out hold true for every single thing that was, is and is to come? empirical is how man tries his best to find out the truth about something. however, along with everything else, it is imperfect. a lot of what we know is empirical. it is excellent, but imperfect. a lot of what we know is not empirical but qualitative as well. does that mean there is no place for that? some things cannot be defined in numbers and figures, but you know it holds true and is valid. if God meant the world for the intellectuals then a lot of people miss out. can one figure one's creator out? i think not. i believe it is only responsible to know and learn to defend your faith, but it's not your god-like knowledge of the world and its workings that do God's work. there's so so much more. i believe that is what we want to invite you to share in. btw no pun intended with "god-like".... loll.

good, or goodest?
one day, i hope to be able to pen down my thoughts on reconciling good intentions with good. i mean, at God's level, surely we wouldn't have an inkling of a clue what would be best for ourselves would we? are good intentions only as good as the wisdom accompanying them? we only act out of what we consider best at the time.
oh goody, pizza time.
