inspiration
whilst connected to the internet, i tapped a few keys on my keyboard in quick succession in the address bar, then depressed the enter button. i found the website i was looking for, and was inspired to post something on my blog. i proceeded to depress several keys in the right order, and arrived at the blog site to type out a short post before publishing it.

dust, anyone?
recently, like three days ago, a massive dust storm from central australia kinda blew into town. but of course, we knew not what it was all about, and i thought i stepped out of my block onto mars; such was the backdrop.
where i've spent a decent amount of time this sem, the UQ pool. it was freezing that day; the sun was blotted out.
i also realised i had to protect my loved ones from the red plague that was creeping stealthily through our ranks.
there, all better now.

dustbin management
apparently big dustbins promote laziness (young, 2009). i beg to differ. the principles remain! if you are lazy with big dustbins, and let them pile up to kingdom come, then you are just as likely to be lazy with small dustbins too (and a little frustrated they pile up every 2 minutes). hence my preference for big bins. they look neater anyway. your only argument could be that bigger bins do not need to be emptied that often, and that lower frequency of bin emptying might have a role in promoting laziness. yeah so wotever. be conscientious with your rubbish. don't let it accumulate.

less tears, more action
this song title was never more appropriate than now. guilty on a consistent basis, excuse-ful, and abysmal, you fail to fulfill the potential, only exhibiting the potential -difference- instead. i could cry and moan all day (and night, but that would be disturbing the peace) about my 2000 words due monday + research skills mid-sem, but that'd be another pathetic attempt at self-pity. it's time that i faced the music, and filled the void with, yes, you guessed it, less tears, and more action.

memories
i did dun it agin. instead of doin werk i just clicked on a few archived links on my blog. seriously chronicling your life makes for nostalgic retrospection. i realise i was much more hardworking when i first came. we need me back! some of the things i read really inspire. why ohhhh ohhh why and where did we go wrong? shall go rest and rise early. good night world. and give yourself a warm hug, because you're worth it.

farewell is the new hello
yet another one bites the dust; ivan this time round, my housemate of almost 3 years, the founding forefather of 3/222 sir fred schonell drive, alongside marcus, who has sometime ago returned to malaysia already. the winds of change urge us on our way, with nary a moment to pause and consider. and so he moves to singapore to start a new chapter there, working as a pharmacist in tan tock seng.
i realise i haven't really gotten to know ivan that well, and perhaps that is one of the biggest differences between a typical male and female household. girls talk, and guys shun. we're perfectly at ease with being strangers under one roof, minding our own lives and continuing to strive. for what, no one knows for sure. where do pipe dreams end, and realities begin? that great disparity between our lofty hopes and ambitions and what actually plays out on a daily basis never fails to leave me bemused. when then, will i be able to gather up courage enough to embrace all that really was meant to be? to forget what was behind, and strive on towards what lies ahead? dare i answer that question?
take care in sunny sticky sweaty singapore ivan kan cheuk hin, and i pray you settle in just fine and enjoy all that food and dispense correct medications... hehe. catch you end of the year man, and thanks for the memories on the field (and in the courts), along with the clothes and miscellaneous belongings you left for us, lol.

lunch, before dinner, after breakfast
it's been a long time since i've cooked, what with all the whining (whaoo typo) and dining at py's. carbonara for lunch, and possibly a nap to go along. hmmm need to try master mai's yummy-looking salmon and mash soon! we've got potatoes in our house ... they might be green and 3 years old, but still edible.
also, tonight's the second soccer trial to represent singapore at UQ ASEAN games, including countries like .......... KOREA? japan?! china!!?! did someone say ASIAN or asean?? tryna rain on our parade now are we? i think malaysia might actually be the strongest team.... although ...... the koreans and japanese seem to have this natural flair for the game.
