australia
wow. i am back, back from exploring a little bit of australia. back from sunshine coast, noosa, gold coast, montville, maleney, movie world, back from exploring wineries, marveling atop mountains, visiting unmanned farms and quaint villages, back from countless jump shots, road shots, spaceshots, losing it on abandoned beaches, and just basically having a splendid time with the cousins.
yea, i'd say it was a good weekend. thank you God. just a pity i've anatomy and motor control lectures while they continue onwards to fraser island. think i'll be meeting em up for dinner on tues night.
ohh and as a result of having to send them to roma street for their fraser island pickup before returning the rented car, i was EARLY FOR LECTURE. it is historic. and the irony really is the fact i had to catch a bus from cooparoo to school. n-i-c-eeee.

floored
today in exercise physiology lab, we ran a maximal treadmill test on one of our guys and submaximal cycling tests on the rest of us. i tell you, i could have died doing it. i just hate exercising in static enclosed air-conditioned spaces. it might have been 'submaximal' but it sure felt very maximal to me. it was tiring tiring tiring. if my heart rate had jumped up faster i wouldn't have had my load increased and had to hold that intensity for 6 minutes! but i guess at least it shows i'm 'fit' enough to warrant load increases. sheesh, i thought i had strong thighs but this killed me.
4 x EDUC2000 2 x ANAT2029 2 x HMST2530
that has to be that. ann-louise and i have made a pact to keep each other on our toes! no more! bahhh. my cousins (not joshua's side) are coming over! 3 of them! frances seems all over it man; she wants to go places! i'll have to juggle this stuff and make sure i'm ready to go PARRTIIEH when friday comes.
till then, forgive me while i take my leave to fix a cuppa tea and whip out the long overdue (according to chris' BEATPROCRASTINATION plan) motor control lab report and start working on it.

recoil
i went to the EKKA today, and sat in this 'top gun'-ish ride called No Limits with siu fai and eve. the rest were not up to getting their guts spilled tonight. boy, was it some ride. i was upside down, inside out, wrong side up half of the time, and upside down and hanging for what seemed eternity (which was probably like 2 secs), and my orientation was totally messed after the first few rounds. fleeting thoughts of 'what if the arm we're on dislodges and we're flung out into the highways and byways of life' were few and far between, but there was hardly time to dwell too much on the morbid. it was insanely awesome. but that was just the icing on the end of a tiring but eventful day. the crowds were crazy though; you'd think it was the great singapore sale or something.
and so, this friday heralds the unit getaway to mount glorious. i think we haven't been praying enough for this retreat. my fast turned into a diet, which wasn't a diet because when dinnertime came, i'd go on a killing spree.
i'm falling asleep over 'follow' by the 'bang gang'. which sorta group would call themselves the bang gang?! sheesh.

maybe, just maybe
Maybe you'll think of me when you are all alone Maybe the one who is waiting for you Will prove untrue, then what will you do? Maybe you'll sit and sigh, wishing that I were near
Then maybe you'll ask me to come back again And maybe I'll say "Maybe" Maybe you'll think of me when you are all alone
Maybe the one who is waiting for you Will prove untrue, then what will I do? Maybe you'll sit and sigh, wishing that I were near
Then maybe you'll ask me to come back again And maybe I'll say "Maybe" the ink spots - maybe

all around the world
there were people celebrating the birth of singapore, my homeland. and for the first time in donkey years, i managed to completely miss the NDP. i attended an NDP party, and i managed to not even catcha single glimpse of it, sigh. it was supposed to be streamed live, but apparently it was not loading too well and too laggy so it ended up as a singaporean party night; plenty of rowdy drinking, gambling, and secular activity. i managed to make a few friends and played bridge the whole night. edwin was busy with mahjong, eve and bernie (her housemate) were on WII with REAL fake tennis (not the WII sports one), and the food was splendid. there was pizza (courtesy of us lazy-to-cook'ers), roasted pork, pork ribs, chicken curry, fried beehoon, steamed egg with century egg, and apple crumble for dessert! i salivate just at the thought of that feast.
the night just made me realise how different the world is outside of my lil bubble. and that is the world Jesus calls us to. and we continue to hide so, in our comfortable hommie pads. how naive.
i've assignments due this week. someone lay the smackdown on me please.
