No, Nothing.
Oh, precious is the flow That makes me white as snow And no other fount I know Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Hmmm. We're through to the finals. I cut my thumb while cooking. I watched Indiana Jones, and marveled at the ridiculousness. There's a whole barrage of Marvel-esque movies coming out this period. I screwed up praise leading. I might have developed acute patellofemoral tendinitis after that jog with Edwin. Adrenaline helped me play tonight. Though we made it through, we cut it too close; our performance has been deteriorating these last few games. I should see a physiotherapist. I owe Wen An two Timothy class essays. Finals are around the corner. I got told off at the movies. I've been distanced by bad management.
Nothing, no nothing but.

we drew boo hoo
In a clash of titans match, the humble peasants of Hope took on the strutting Leetness keen to live up to their name. We all knew about them, and their goalscoring prowess, and we were wary. We were revved up and ready to go, and we took the game to them indeed! In the first 10 minutes anyway, haha. We pressured and harassed them endlessly, causing much panic in their ranks. They were barely able to string two passes together, and it wasn't long before we were in the lead. A loose ball bounced in front of me around mid-court, and all I saw was a gaping goalmouth with no keeper (he had just come out to clear some danger). Instinct kicked in (literally), and I blasted a right-footed shot straight in, past the flailing arms of he who was out of position. It was a beauty (if I say so myself, hahaha)! The pressure was kept up on them and they were all out at sea. In spite of their reputation, we were 3-0 up before 10 minutes were up. CK blasted one in from close range, and a corner forced an own goal from them. The team really felt like we could do the favourites in good this time.
However, that's when the tide started turning. Kudos to them; they never gave up. I sit and wonder if we were the ones 3-0 down, whether we would be as psyched up and motivated as them. We were tiring slightly, and this allowed them to come back into the game. It was pretty even for a while, both sides having chances, but they were becoming increasingly dangerous, forcing us to move men up to pressure them, leaving their forwards open to passes. They pulled one back before the interval, and we were glad for the break.
However, after the interval, in spite of us knowing we needed another goal or two to kill off hopes, they took charge of the game completely. We were zilch for fitness and fading fast. Our marking was ineffective in preventing the ball getting to their feet, and their one twos were making their way through. Some good shielding and drawing of defenders gave us a few scares. Not that we didn't have our chances. At the other end, we were firing shots in from all angles too on our counters, but the new keeper of the tournament in my eyes was diving every which way to keep the ball out of the net. The other half of our shots were dismal and wayward. Unfortunately, we were left to rue quite a few golden chances when finally, Leetness pulled another back after yet another stellar move which pulled our defenders away from the centre and their squared ball was hammered into the net. A mistake from Jon our keeper, rolling the ball straight to their forward, helped them finally tie the tie. More scrappy and desperate defending amidst quickly fading stamina finally saw us concede the 4th goal, and the dream start was turning into a starkly contrasting nightmare of epic proportions.
I didn't see any way back because all our balls up were being cleared and they ended up attacking our goal. Almost at the end of time, CK somehow got up front left of their goal, and with gladness in our hearts, we saw him smash the ball home to tie the match for a deserved draw. Both sides played bravely, especially Leetness, who never saw hope fade (oh the irony) from their eyes even three down, and we payed the price for losing our dominating grip on the game and allowing them to play their game. We seriously had like 47135731 shots on their goal, but their keeper was up to every single one of them. I've never seen a busier keeper in this tournament. I felt we were also a bit unlucky because many times the potential shot was falling on the wrong foot for our player, many times CK, and a few for Alvin, one especially vivid moment when he was at front left of their goal and a looping ball came in from the right. He tried to scoop the ball in with his right foot but it flew really high instead. It might be a good idea to try switching their flanks to enable them to get cut-in shots instead. Oh well, I think Hornets won their game against The Gents anyway, so we should be back to second right now, with our last league game against Spartans this coming saturday before playoffs kick in.
